OUR FIRST CHURCH
St. Elias the Prophet, Brampton.
A living community of faith, art, and memory.
Spirit Alive begins at the church Stephan Kozak grew up in.
THE ST. ELIAS PILOTSt. Elias is a Ukrainian Catholic parish in the Byzantine and Kyivan tradition. Founded in 1976, it brings together prayer, iconography, music, and a welcoming community.
This first Spirit Alive experience invites visitors to pause before one icon and discover its story. The next layer will be the parish’s own voice: a priest’s reflection, a remembered detail, a story only this community can tell.
Visit the parish website ↗Founded with Fr. Roman Galadza as its first pastor.
The original wooden temple is destroyed by fire on April 5.
The rebuilt temple is consecrated on October 1.
THE VOICE OF THE PARISH
Fr. Tom Hrywna is the current pastor. The narration draft is ready for his review and his own additions about this icon’s place in parish life.
An independent RODYNA pilot for discussion with the parish. Parish participation and narration are not yet confirmed. Read the sources.
PILOT WORKSPACE · NARRATION
A starting script for the priest, with space for the story that belongs to St. Elias.
For priest review · not an approved parish statement
Optional synthetic read-through; this is not the priest’s voice.

Local preview only. Your recording stays in this browser until you download it. Adding it to the shared app is a separate publishing step.
ASK THE PRIEST
Add a personal 20–30 second ending in the priest’s own words. Confirm these details before including them as facts.
A LITTLE MORE CONTEXT
The story chapters draw on Luke 1:26–38 and traditional Byzantine interpretation. The thread detail belongs to Christian tradition, rather than Luke’s account. All narration is a draft for parish review.
The original supplied photograph matches the Annunciation shown in the St. Elias online icon gallery. The gallery credits it as “Z Kuchikov.” The preferred spelling of the artist’s name, date, donor, and current location should be confirmed with the parish.
The enhanced view was created with AI and may reinterpret fine details. The original photograph is available in the explorer and is used as a recognition reference. This pilot does not claim the painting survived the 2014 fire.
View the parish’s icon gallery ↗The eight-second animation and the music track “Тиха вечірня” were supplied by Stephan Kozak. The music plays independently of the video loop, so it continues naturally as the image repeats. It is not presented as a parish recording. The downloadable video has no music. In the live camera view it is fitted to the inner painted scene, keeping the original border and title visible. When tracking is lost, the overlay disappears and playback pauses until the icon is found again. The downloadable video places the animation inside the supplied photograph’s frame.
The St. Elias drawing is an AI-created interpretation of an exterior photograph on the parish website. It is an artistic introduction, not an architectural record or a render of the Unreal project.
Church photograph reference ↗The camera opens only after you enable it and closes when you leave the scan screen. Image recognition takes place in your browser. Audio recording begins only when you press record; takes are stored locally in this browser, not sent to a server.
